The Compassion Fund awarded its 940,000 dollar this past month and continues in its TOGETHER CAMPAIGN as it eagerly anticipates giving out their one millionth dollar later this year. The TOGETHER CAMPAIGN is seeking out new donors through payroll deduction and broadening its fundraising scope as it captures the attention of outside communities. Internal challenges are being conducted within our centers and momentum is building.
The Compassion Fund continues to offer support during crisis with financial awards; with in-kind goods and services offered through HeartBRIDGE’s link to faith-based and human services in all of our communities; and with our newest offering: Compassion Closet. Compassion Closet encourages all of our centers to pool resources toward supporting entire communities during natural disaster.
One particular individual, Terry Winsette, a patient at St. Francis in Memphis, TN, was recently a benefactor of both The Fund and HeartBRIDGE. While at Physical Therapy at our center, Mr. Winsette‘s auto burst into flames due to an
electrical problem. The Chaplain of the center helped all the Stakeholders to join hands with the Mayor, with the Reserved Forces, and with helpful businesses in the community in private fundraising toward a replacement auto. ..which ended up being a bright red truck…and a TOTAL surprise to the family.
How do we face crisis?
How do we endure storms?
Thanks for everyone’s participation in COMPASSION!
